"thanks to Dr. Mei, I could see the results of the treatments and feel the difference on my body"
Rudy C.
For 27 years, I have been suffering from Diabetes Type 1, dependent on insulin. Thanks to Dr. Mei and her acupuncture skills, my quality of life has improved immensely. I had very poor circulation in my legs, had ulcers in my foot due to my diabetes, and my legs were constantly going numb because of lack of circulation. In addition to that, I lost all the hair on my legs. Thanks to Dr. Mei, I could see the results of the treatments and feel the difference on my body, such as I now have much better blood circulation in my legs, the hair on my legs grew back and the ulcer on my feet disappeared.
Thank you Dr Mei.
Sincerely,
Rudy C.

"treatment proved its indubitable healing power"
Steve L. Phd
Dear Mei Lu,
Just a note to thank you for your needles that worked wonders for my left leg which had been so weak, preventing me from walking for months. Now that the burden is gone, I can easily walk about an hour without any pain or fatigue. This is what we call charisma of nostrum or cure. My two weeks of acupuncture-massage treatment proved its indubitable healing power. So much like a miracle!

I went to see Mei because I was having chronic upper respiratory infections. Every month after my menstrual cycle, I would develop a chest cold/sinus infection. This went on for almost a year and was obviously very inconvenient. I saw several doctors who kept giving me cough syrup and antibiotics that were not helpful. When I went to see Mei, she listened to my symptoms and put me on a treatment of herbal tea to drink several times a day. In about a week, my health was restored. The colds went away and I have returned to my normal, healthy, active self. I have since moved to Santa Barbara, but I would certainly make the drive back to Pasadena for her treatment if I needed to.

I am so overdue on giving kudos to Mei that she must think my effusive praise was all talk.
Her acupuncture acumen is unmatched, period. Her serious study of your condition is refreshing. Her willingness to ask others when dealing with novel cases is the mark of the best.
True story: I had gallstones and Parkinson's disease. Mei assembled a concoction of herbs. When I started taking the [nasty tasting] brew, my Parkinson's syptoms promptly began improving! So great was the difference that my neurologist was impressed. Upon consulting with the pharmacists, he was able to deduce that the herbs so improved my liver functioning that it metabolized my medicine much better. giving me serious relief.
I love this amazing healer!

I just came back from here and this place is fantastic. Mei gives the best massages ever. My neck was extremely stiff and she knew exactly where to massage, where to put the needles, and I was all better. Still a little sore, but that's to be expected.
It was my first time getting acupuncture, and while it was a bit scary, I just let myself go and I feel fantastic now.
And she takes insurance!!

Mei is a gifted healer. 5 Star Rating - Excellent
By K. Yong
I used to have asthma/bronchitis due to my seasonal allergies from years of living in the mid-west. Since I really hate being doped up with Zyrtec, Benadryl, asthma inhalers and a daily dose of Advair to boot, my wife suggested that I try acupuncture. It so happened that we chose Mei from the Yellow Pages and I haven't looked back since.
My progress was incremental, but after a series of treatments, I have been asthma free and off my allergy meds. I never thought that would happen but it has. Before my treatments with Mei, I had problems with strenous physical activity as my asthma had the tendency to flare-up. Now I can exercise without having to worry about an attack.
I have seen Mei for a variety of things from stress relief, sinunitis to tendonitis. And she always been able to help me feel so much better.
Mei is extremely knowledgeable about the practice of traditional Chinese healing and is excellent at deep tissue massage. I have every confidence in her abilities to heal.

Surprised by effectiveness 5 Star Rating - World class.

After being pushed around my MD's office in a wheelchair, I felt useless and terrified. My entire back felt like it was made of wood, and I couldn't use my left leg to walk. My MD diagnosed me with muscle spasms, gave me meds, and told me I'd be out for three weeks.
My friend convinced me to try acupuncture and recommended Mei. After 4 treatments in 6 days, I have very little pain and am able to walk normally again. I don't understand why Western medicine disregards acupuncture and massage as viable treatments. Mei's English is a little hard to understand at times, but her caring manner is enough to overcome that minor barrier. After my back recovers, we're going to work on my circulation issues (my extremities are often very cold). I'm sure my well-spoken MD has a pill for that too, but I'd rather have Mei work with me and help me get to my best health.

Mei used acupucture and herbs to help me get pregnant twice! 5 Star Rating - World class
By Molly H. (from InsiderPages.com)
I first went to see Mei (of Mei Acupuncture) in the spring of 2006. I was recovering from two surgeries. In March, I had a horizontal laparotomy for the removal of an ovarian cyst (7cm in size) due to endometriosis. Two weeks later, I had another laparotomy (this one was vertical) to remove infected blood from a staph infection that had grown inside my original surgical opening. Normally I am active person, I was forced to recover for several weeks in bed. I was anxious, depressed, and terrified of becoming sick again.
I literally went to see Mei because I had nowhere else to turn. I was terrified of doctors, hospitals and Western medicine as a whole. A friend suggested I try acupuncture. At first I was apprehensive (looking back now I cannot conceive why!) but upon my husbands urging I made an appointment. At my first session, Mei looked at my scars and shook her head, sadly. As an acupuncturist she had been treating women with endometriosis for years and was shocked by my doctors decision to surgically remove the cyst. I had no feeling on my entire abdomen. My nerve endings had been severed by the surgical lacerations. She immediately began to try to give me feeling again. The scar tissue was so tough the first few times I went to see her that she could barely insert the needles.
Over the next few sessions, Mei used acupuncture to help calm my anxiety, dissolve my insomnia and fight my depression. I began biking to her office instead of driving and I felt a renewed sense of energy. To compliment the acupuncture, Mei also gave me herbs to drink to help clear out scar tissue and boost my digestive system again.
At my tenth session with Mei I mentioned to her that my husband and I were trying to conceive a child. Since I had just had an ovarian cyst removed and was vulnerable to having endometriosis again (a condition that breeds infertility in women) I was anxious to start a family before my chances diminished. Mei told me she could help. That month we began plotting a fertility chart for me. She asked that I take my BBT (basal body temperature) everyday, count the days in my cycle and look for a spike in temperature to mark the approximant day of ovulation. After I had gathered all the information she gave me three bottles of herbs to take. One set was for when I was menstruating, the next for the days leading up to ovulation, and the last set for after I had ovulated. The first month I took the herbs I became pregnant with my son, Patik who is now a year old.
I have returned to visit Mei for back pain, neck pain and nerve pain. But it is not Mei's ability to soothe the normal aches and pains of my daily life that make her truly special to me. It is that she helped me solve my infertility problems without drugs, or surgery or any other invasive kind of medical care. Instead, she used my body's cycle and system of functioning to help determine when I would be ready to conceive. In fact, as I write this testimony I am pregnant with my second child, due in November. Again, the first month I took the herbs she prescribed I became pregnant.
Mei is an incredible healer and doctor because she offers not one system of cure but three. She is an acupuncturist, a masseuse and an herbalist. She has used a combination of these methods to help me, all the while comforting me with her gentle, soothing bedside manner. She is humble, compassionate and focused. I hope other women who struggle with fertility as I have will consider confiding in her. I cannot convey the gratitude and respect I feel for her every time I hold my child.

By Betty T. (from InsiderPages.com)
Mei has been treating me for a few years now since I had my very first acupuncture treatment from her. And wow, when she massages my feet, I am in HEAVEN!! She is so gentle with her acupuncture yet quite powerful in her massages. I love her!!! Her pain patches really work too! One more thing--Mei is always accommodating to my busy schedule and I really appreciate that!

I have seen 4 acupuncturists, and many alternative medicine practitioners. Mei was great- felt what I needed. Not routine. I recommend her very strongly.

Better Relief than Chiropractic 5 Star Rating - World class
By Tara C. | Insider Expert | Rank: 1,994 (from InsiderPages.com)
When my neck freezes up, this is the only thing that helps. It kind of feels like you've been transported to China with the shelves of jars lining the walls filled with herbs. Mei does a fantasic job. I have a MAJOR adversion to needles (I faint getting them or seeing them given!) and this doesn't bother me a bit. She does a variety of things to get you feeling better - theraputic massage, herbal remedies.
